...But Will You Submit?

We have all faced a point in our lives where we feel like giving up-throwing in the towel. Life becomes difficult and we feel overwhelmed. Bills are pilled up, loneliness is at an all time high, and our joy is low. We feel like we are walking down a never ending road of darkness filled with pain, suffering, and tribulations. We seem distant to loved ones, and have seemingly "checked out" on life. We are stressing over any and every thing that life throws our way. We're sad, each day is a blah of depression, sadness, regret, and constant pondering of the situation we are facing. God did not call us to live that way.

God's first call to us is to come out of sin. Come out of OUR way of doing things and surrender completely to Him.
II Chronicles 7:14 says, "If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land." (KJV)
The problem with some of us-we don't want to humble ourselves. We don't want to fall on our face before God. We don't want to admit "Yes Lord, I know I'm jacked up. My way ain't working. I need you. You take the wheel over my life."
John 14:6 says, "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
God says He and He alone is the way and the truth. So why is that we have so many people playing around like this isn't real stuff? Why do we have so many people constantly complaining about life and their circumstances? Constantly giving heed to the devil and his plan to destroy our God given destiny? God did not call us to live that way. I'll tell you why: BECAUSE WE HAVE NO FAITH! We don't truly understand how God operates. It doesn't matter what you have done, if you bring it to God, He will make you whole. God is a healer, friend, confidant, and so much more. He loves us-more than any other man could ever. He committed the ultimate sacrifice for us, and all He wants is for his people to live for Him, wholeheartedly.
Hebrews 11:6 says, "But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." (KJV)
  •  Diligent: a constant effort to accomplish something; attentive and persistent in doing anything
Ladies, what do we do diligently? We show constant efforts to be fashionable presentable, or get ready for the date with the guy we're really interested in, and even in our educational endeavors. When you truly want something, you will go after it with everything in you. That is how we must be when seeking God. We must be passionate about it.

& Realize that there are some things we have to let go of. Some things we have to separate ourselves from. Relationships, friends, our lifestyle, our demeanor-just to name a few. It doesn't always feel good during the separation, however, once you get the revelation that those things were holding you back from being all that God has called you to be-you will smile and know that not only are you a better individual, but you are now only following after the things of God (a pathway that never fails).

We cannot allow those who hurt us to impede our purpose on this earth. We cannot not allow financial hardships to cause us to act as those who operate of the world. We are to live in the world and not of it.

Questions/Concerns you may have:
  • I tried this "God thing" before and it didn't work. Nothing changed in my life.
  • Where do I start? I want to change...I think.
To address the above bullets, we often "try" and give it 20%, 40%, or %50. You have to give it your all. God knows the intention of our hearts. He knows whether we just want to seek Him because we really want a promotion, or something good to happen, and he knows if we just want to seek Him to live a life of holiness and secure our eternal destination in heaven. One cannot fool God. We have to turn from our wicked ways and seek after righteousness. We cannot expect that our life will turn around if we are still out here in the world willfully sinning, but going to church on Sunday thinking we are in God's good grace. God says, "if you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). So if you've tried before, try again. Follow after the formula. Separate yourself from all things not pleasing to God. Spend time with Him, read your bible-not just for 5 minutes, spend some real time with God like you are trying to truly get to know Him. Confess your sins. Repent. Maybe you are not ready...but you better get ready! We do not know the hour nor day when He will return. Make the conscious decision that you want to change. It isn't hard to be holy if you sincerely want to be holy, just like it isn't hard to be faithful if you truly love someone. If you are not sure where to start with reading your bible, start in the chapter of John, it teaches you who God is and His word.
Galations 5:16-17 says, "This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would."
Walk and follow after the spirit. Realize that you can't do whatever you want, live a life especially that doesn't glorify God, and expect to see His promises and manifestation in your life. If you want to see change, you have to be willing to change.

Ask yourself (I literally want you to say this aloud), "self, with all that I have going on (name aloud all that's been tugging at you), this and that, and that and this"- *STOP!*
